A Writer's Gift on April 28, 2011 by jhschick from Ohio

  • Pros: Timely and relevant articles, for professional or beginning writers
  • Cons: It's a shame there have to be advertisements - more writing information would be perfect

I have subscribed to Writer's Digest for more than a year. The articles are timely, well written, and thorough. Thought provoking information for every writing stage and for every level of writer. WD lists helpful hints, prompts, and up-to-date markets. WD provides all of the tools writers need to excel and succeed with their writing.

Happy Subscriber on March 04, 2010 by k from U.S.

  • Pros: good articles
  • Cons: can't think of any right now

I wish Writer's Digest magazine had more contests and at least one a year without a reading fee.

Something for Everyone Who Writes on May 22, 2009 by Poodledunk from Northeast

  • Pros: Lots of information about getting published and contests for work.
  • Cons: A bit expensive, but worth the money if you subscribe at the discount rate.

I purchased a couple of copies of Writer's Digest from the local grocery store shelf and was very impressed with the content. This was my first exposure to a magazine that is geared specifically toward writing/writers. I have kept the copies as they are a wealth of information regarding publishing work and/or submitting work for contests. I would highly recommend a subscription (and no I don't work for the company) if one subscribes at the discounted rate on their web site. It's over 50% off the over the counter prices. What a great way to get informed and save money! Almost as good as garage sales.

Writer's Digest on March 20, 2006 by Chrissy from Little Switzerland NC

I read this magazine cover to cover and recently won first place in a contest that I never would've known about had I not digested every page!
