Good writing. Interesting information.
Art News covers a wide range of information in an interesting and detailed way.
I have read and kept issues of this magazine since 1977. I also have earlier issues given by a friend at the time. I find this an important resource for tracking the history of living artists of the times and essays regarding the entire history of the fine arts. Reproductions of artwork is exceptional. Even the advertising is attractive, interesting and given the best treatment for color. Each issue is like a work of art on its own. My standard for whether a painting is artistic or not is that each time it is viewed something new is discovered. Same with Art News. I never pick up and view a previous issue without finding something I missed or overlooked at the time. No matter how many times that issue has been looked at regardless of whether it is from the seventies or the most recent issue. This magazine is a very important part of the art world and in my view anyone remotely interested in what is going on in the art world should be a reader.
