Simple and Delicious Recipes on October 14, 2009 by Heddafish from New York City

  • Pros: Simple recipes, Delicious food, shopping lists, great photos, catered to the season
  • Cons: Every now and then you will get a hard to find ingredient

I love Everyday Food magazine. I have given subscriptions as gifts and always recommend it to friends. These tiny magazines are packed with simple and delicious recipes. They are so easy to make and so tasty. They provide everything from family cooking, kid-friendly recipes, to delicious cooking for one recipes. This magazine has beautiful photos of every dish and also is catered to the season offering information and recipes with fresh ingredients that are in season when the issues hit the news stand or come in your mailbox. This magazine has introduced me to new foods that I never would have tried without it. They even provide shopping lists and tips for storing and substitutions; and every recipe has a nutritional breakdown indexed in the back. My only complaint is that sometimes there is an ingredient that is hard to find, but I find in these cases that the recipe is so simple, that I can often substitute for a different ingredient. I just can't say enough good things about this magazine.

Busy Mom of Five...LOVE THIS MAGAZINE! on May 18, 2009 by JavaJo from TX

  • Pros: Great short and easy recipes

Everyday Food magazine is nice and short, but packed full of great easy recipe options. I've made several of the recipes over the years and we've really enjoyed them. I love the fact that various recipes are limited in ingredients but great on flavor. We've found a couple of favorites that we've made several times. I've looked at several different magazines and find this one the most consistent to FOOD topics and it truly meets the EVERYDAY needs as well, instead of being loaded with irrelevant topics and tons of advertisements or recipes that are too complicated to make on a weeknight.

The Best Cooking Mag Ever on December 30, 2008 by Beegee from Reno, Nv

  • Pros: compact and easy to carry in purse, menus easy, quick, and delicous
  • Cons: absolutely none

My husband was getting this magazine for himself. One afternoon I picked it up to read it, and found a recipe for meatloaf that sounded quick and easy, so I tried it. I packed the magazine in my purse, since it was so small and headed of to the market. As it turns out the dish I prepared was both quick and easy, plus it tasted absolutely delicious! My husband had the job of cooking, but ever since making that one meal, I took over the kitchen and have been making breakfast, lunch, and dinner ever since.

Favorite Cooking Mag on October 21, 2008 by BaltimoreRookieCook from Baltimore, MD

  • Pros: Photos for all recipes, easy instruction, shopping lists, delicious meals!
  • Cons: Wish there were even more recipe per issue

I highly recommend this mag to anyone who enjoys cooking but hates recipes that don't turn out. I've been using this mag for a couple of years. The menus and shopping lists provided take the guess work out of preparing for meals. Everyday Food also takes care to provide menus using what's in season. The fall and summer recipes are amongst my favorite, so colorful and flavorful. My baby and husband love the meals. The recipes have modification suggestions for dietary needs as well. None of the menus have been disappointing to date. This is by far the best cookbook I've ever bought and the new monthly recipes keeps my family interested in meal time!

Menu for a week on June 26, 2007 by JLS1227

I took the grocery list to the store that was provided in the issue. I followed the recipes with a few additions (spices, wine and herbs) to my family's liking. The meals were great!!! Simple, easy and different than what I would normally make for dinner. It was the first time I cooked cod and I would definitely cook with it again. I hope they continue to put these menus for a week with the grocery list in every issue. Saved me a lot of time deciding what to make for dinner.
