I have read MAD Magazine since I was 10 or 11 and I have loved it ever since. The incredible humor is awesome and there has got to be something enjoyable in there for anyone in any walk of life.

Hilarious Magazine! on January 02, 2009 by Tubby from Convoy, Ohio

  • Pros: funny
  • Cons: none

This magazine is awsome! I love how they even make their own ads. They fmake fun of REAL current events and include some facts to make it even funnier.

I was introduced way back when ??? on December 11, 2008 by MOM from Key West, Florida

  • Pros: Excellent for kids but has double meaning for adults (especially great political humor).
  • Cons: Some adult content for younger children - but they don't always get it

I was introduced to MAD when I was 13 - way back ... in the late 60's. I loved it then and enjoyed the sarcasm, but I didn't get all the double content. I introduced my son to MAD when he was about 11 - he doesn't get all of it but loves the magazine. It may not be the best reading material but it does encourage children to read.

Sweet satire of politics and culture on October 08, 2008 by MAD about Mad Since I was 7 from Iowa City

  • Pros: Very funny; hits every side heavily from each angle it can find. No false idols here!
  • Cons: Was advert free until Bill Gaines passed on. Mpw has some ads aimed at kids.

I am a 36 year old professional who has been reading Mad since 1977 when a copy was included in the shipment of ordered magazines for his store. I immediately fell for its satire of Pres Carter (not that I understood Carter...but the drawings were enough for this simple seven year old to see the humor). Today, it skewers Bush, Cheney, Gore, Obama, McCain, Congress, Hollywood, ABC/NBC/Fox, CNN/FOXNews/MSNBC, baseball, churches, local government, labor unions, ... Something in each issue will make you laugh, something in each issue will offend you, but each issue is guaranteed to make you think about our world in a new light. Well worth more than a few dollars an issue to educate kids (and adults) while they think they are just getting entertainment.

a great laugh on April 13, 2008 by hippymom from Allentown, Pa

  • Pros: satire geared for kids
  • Cons: ????

loved MAD as a kid and was so excited to introduce my son to it. The subtle jokes are great for getting kids to think and the obvious ones, well, they are just....MAD!
