I’m here to talk about Motor Trend, one of my favorite automobile magazines.
Its glossy pages are full of spectacular photos and easy to read print. It’s well-written, but not too technical, so the information will be useful to all readers.
The main body of the magazine is composed of several articles that are first looks at a car, or possibly a comparison of several cars from a particular niche. These articles are very detailed reviews of the newest cars available.
Motor Trend has a good mix of the types of cars it covers. Some other auto magazines focus too much on the high-end cars that are out of my price range. The truth is that I like to read about these cars, but the more common cars are what I need in order to make decisions about future purchases.
One of my favorite sections is the (trend) section. It’s basically the Cliffs Notes of what is happening this month in the auto industry. While the focus of this section would be announcements about new cars or features, it also includes things such as legal or business coverage as it applies to the automotive industry.
Just as Motor Trend magazine starts out with the summary of the newest news, it is only fitting that it ends with a summary of the oldest news. The long-term tests are reviews of the magazines fleet of cars as they age, how well they have fared in cost of ownership and how the editorial staff still feels after spending an extended amount of time with them.
Overall, Motor Trend is an attractive, easy to read magazine that delivers the current automotive trends on a level that anyone can understand. I highly recommend a Motor Trend subscription for yourself, or as a gift for any automotive enthusiast.
