Always Read from Front to Back on April 24, 2009

  • Pros: great read

I love Psychology Today. I am a psychology major who graduated. The magazine includes relationship advice, healthy food for your mind and body, issues that are current, different psychology events and lists of psychologists, stories about different cases and different statistics on interesting topics. The only complaint I have about the magazine is that it is not a monthly magazine. I would definitely recommend this magazine to a friend. If you're interested in learning about yourself and the newest and latest psychology news, this is definitely for you!

  • Cons: None

Psychology Today keeps the details on the light side but does inform. I enjoy the humor and the short-in-depth articles that keep me from becoming bored with the subject matter. Great gift for college students in humanity studies. This is also a great way to reach clients who are nervous about seeing a psychologist.

slightly misleading on January 20, 2009

  • Pros: some of the articles are rather interesting
  • Cons: they are not geared to psychology but rather something along the lines of a cosmo mag

As a studying mental psychology major, I subscribed to this magazine only to find it to be not geared towards psychology or even science based. It is much more along the lines of a cosmo magazine. Also, I thought that each magazine seemed to have really similar articles and it just started to get boring to read.

A cosmo like mag in a Psych format. Have to agree with other reviewer, nonsense about love, flirting, cheating, no indepth MD info.

Do Not Be Fooled by the Name on April 03, 2008
by Jenn
  • Pros: I can find out if that guy at work has a crush on me.
  • Cons: Has little to do with psychology as a field.

I was rather put off by this magazine, as I thought it was going to be something relating to the scientific field of psychology - not a women's magazine with a catchy title. If you want to know how to flirt with people at work, or know how to deal with stress, then this might be for you. However, if you are like myself, in wanting to know more about the scientific world of psychology - like current research, case studies, breakthroughs, etc. then I would highly suggest going some place else.
