Great Little Outdoor Magazine! on June 01, 2009
by E from USA
  • Pros: Educational, interesting, colorful, great photography
  • Cons: None

We discovered Your Big Backyard at the dentist's office. My daughter started looking at it before seeing the dentist, and wouldn't leave the office until she had looked at every page. We ordered it that day and have been happy with it ever since. It's even an enjoyable magazine for adults to read to children. It's well-written (not everything in this age group is). It has just the right amount of content as another reviewer stated. It keeps my child's interest and makes her want to read too. I'm thinking of giving subscriptions as gifts.

My daughter loves this! on May 22, 2008
by dkto from Connecticut
  • Pros: Very informative in language that young children can understand.
  • Cons: None

Today we just received our renewal notice for this magazine. My daughter is six years old and in first grade. She loves this magazine. The contents have just the right amount of information to keep my daughter reading it. She doesn't get bored with it yet she's not bogged down with too many facts. She has to write an animal report each month at school and we have used Your Big Backyard many times. She begged me to renew even though she is getting a little older. So I will and I may even subscribe to Ranger Rick too!

Your Big Backyard on November 10, 2006
by Michele from Los Angeles CA

My daughter received a subscription to Your Big Backyard for her third birthday. The "Little Books" are great and though she cannot read, she can "read" the Bonnie and Chester Rebus stories with me. The photos are excellent and the content leads to a lot of discussion when shared with an adult. Your Big Backyard is a super magazine!

Every month there are more than enough wonderful pictures in Your Big Backyard magazine that a child could look at, even if they cannot read.
